Fans left disappointed after brandy spilled on exit during 'Boy Is Mine' concert in Chicago
CHICAGO - Singers Brandi and Monica performed their "My Child" tour in Chicago on Saturday. But fans were left disappointed and confused when 46-year-old Brandy suddenly left the joint center stage due to such technical difficulties.
What we know:
"Give me a second to get my..." the Grammy winner said before exiting the stage.Monica, 44, only performed the last few songs, and five songs, including the title track "This Boy Is Mine," were not performed at all.
According to the participants, Monika closed the show, but no one seemed to understand that the show was over.Arena lights came on and fans were told to leave.
On Sunday, Brandi posted a statement on social media saying that she was exposed to water, and although she tried to be prepared by the show, technical difficulties would not allow her to do so.
"My dear fans in Chicago,
Thank you all for the great love, support and most importantly your prayers.
I apologize for the ending of last night's game in Chicago.Last week, last night, last night, last night, the most important thing is the disappearance, weakening of the desire and the feeling of feeling.
I still decided to come back and give it my all, even though I wasn't feeling well.As some adjustments had to be made and the show was very technical, unfortunately I was unable to fully connect with the production sonically, I really appreciate everyone's efforts.
I am deeply grateful to my sister Monica for stepping up with such grace and professionalism and to the entire crew for their continued care and support.
I left the arena to see a doctor nearby and took the necessary precautions to help me continue.Your understanding, patience and unwavering faith mean the world to me.
I look forward to getting back on stage - stronger and grateful for my little girl Monica tonight in Indianapolis.
With all my love,
The pair is scheduled to perform in Indianapolis Sunday night and will return to Chicago on October 25.
It's been more than two decades since the duo collaborated on 1998's chart-topping "The Boy Is Mine."
