Sean Combs writes personal letter to Trump, apologizes: Report
Sean Combs has written a personal letter to President Donald Trump asking for clemency after the Bad Boy Entertainment founder was sentenced to just over four years in prison, according to The New York Times.
Trump, who was close friends with Combs on the New York public scene in the 1990s and 2000s, said the 56-year-old would not consider the offer.
It's unclear what Combs said in the letter and when it was sent, but Trump floated the idea of showing the letter to reporters on Wednesday.A representative for Combs declined to comment.
Combs equal to Trump is the last escalation in the music mogul's effort to secure his freedom after he was convicted in July of two counts of transportation to participate in prostitution charges. The ability to stag a spread sea-traffic and extension case, in which Commix is at the end of the most seriousity. However, a jury found him responsible for paying male sex workers to travel through the border of the state for "fuxusas" with their girlfriends.
Combs appealed the ruling last month, accusing U.S. District Judge Arun Subramaniam of acting like a "13th juror" in his October ruling.Combs' attorneys argued that defendants convicted under the Mann Act "generally receive sentences of less than 15 months for these crimes, even when coercion is involved, which the jury did not find here."
But Subramanian said he was considering the "substantial" evidence relating to "abuse relating to the strange incident and hotel night" in setting a 50-month Combs sentence.
"The court rejects the defense's attempt to describe what happened here as nothing more than an intimate, consensual experience or simply a story of sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll," Subramanian said in sentencing Combs."A history of good deeds cannot wash away the record in this case that showed you abused your power and control over the lives of women you claimed to love deeply. You abused them physically, emotionally and psychologically. And you used that abuse to get your way, especially with the reprimands and nights in hotels. The defense argued that the entire case was unrelated.
Rolling Stone reported in May that Combs had laid the groundwork for a pardon shortly after his arrest in September 2024, and that his inner circle had been meeting with people in Trump's orbit shortly after the November presidential election. And when Combs was acquitted of the most serious charges over the summer, his team stepped up their efforts. If they agree to help, enlist their help in getting a pardon from Trump and a floating sum in the six-figure range.
"He's willing to do anything to get out of jail," a source who has known Coombs for a decade told Rolling Stone."He's always been like that. He's always done what he had to do to get out of the situation."
