Try it for free Haley posted a photo from his first big-league Mets game on Opening Day 2019, saying that his ear-to-ear smile, along with a dirty jersey, "encapsulates" his style as a ballplayer.
Those who have seen him over the years have no doubt that his love for the game takes it to an absolute level," Haley wrote in the caption. "I watched almost every game, like almost every season. But I have never been able to look closer at Pete because I believe he gave you everything he had every day."
Alonso won the National League Rookie of the Year in 2019, and hit a career-high 53 homers in the first of five All-Star seasons.
Apart from the silent 2020 campaign, Alokono was in the first books and in Amazine as a matter of fact.
But Haley said she hopes her husband remembers more than just her baseball card numbers.
"The revelations he asks well and appreciation for his game, but his hope with York is this and how much he has poured into this game and this city," he wrote "'Day off and out.'
She said they appreciated the "loyalty" of the fans and how they treated Alonso, who quickly became a fan favorite at Citi Field.
"Over the years we have become lifelong friends and for that I am forever grateful. "Thank you for loving the pet," Heley wrote.
