Samsung has officially revealed the date for its next Galaxy Unpacked event, and everyone is expecting the launch of the Galaxy S26 series. It will air on February 25 at 1pm.ET,The company is offering a chance to get ahead of the curve by trading in your current phone for a little extra cash. Right now, you can sign up on Samsung's website to trade in the Galaxy S26 phone for up to $900 when you pre-order it (or in the rare case the S26 isn't announced at the event).
How to get $900 in Samsung Galaxy S26 trade-ins
That's more money than Samsung offers for trade-ins on other phones.Currently up to $200, it's worth $700 when you trade in a Galaxy S24 Ultra for a Galaxy S25 phone.You will receive $30 to purchase accessories during(but not before or after) your pre-order.You can also choose to enter the sweepstakes for $5,000 in general Samsung online store credit if you wish.
The catch? The pre-order window doesn't seem to be open quiet yet. Usually, that happens within a week of Galaxy Unpacked airing, but you can still get the process started now. Just head to Samsung's Galaxy Unpacked reservation website, enter your name and at least an email address (you can also toss in your phone number, if you'd like), and you'll be taken to the form you need. If you want to enter the sweepstakes, also check the box saying you want to enter.
From there, you can select your current phone company and phone model from the menu.Note that the manufacturer options include Samsung, Apple, Google, and "Other," so it's likely that Samsung is willing to let you trade in the phone as well.As for the model selection, you can select a model back for about five years for each manufacturer option, even if you don't see your model in the list, you can also select "Other" here.
How much will Samsung give me on my phone?
I can't promise how much Samsung will give you for each specific phone model, though it's expected that newer, higher-end phones will cost more.I'm also willing to bet that Samsung will give you more credit if you trade in one of their phones, but that's just speculation.To get the full $900, I think you should buy a Galaxy S25 Ultra.
When you have made your choice, press Send, then scroll down a bit and click on what you are interested in receiving an offer from Samsung on.Make sure you select "Trade in" and then click Submit here as well.
That's it for now.Samsung will now know what phone you have and you are interested in the trade-in, and it should send you an email with the appropriate trade-in when it is available.Again, this should happen around Unpacked, probably the week of February 25th.

Overall, it's a good deal, but it continues Samsung's unfortunate trend of asking you to pre-order a device before it's officially unveiled and before you know its full spec list.Fortunately, several rumors about the Galaxy S26 include a look similar to the S25, an ultra-slim S26 Edge model, a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, and a new Ultra model.Including a 10-megapixel telephoto lens makes it easy to predict what we're going to see.We have no choice but to wait for confirmation.
