It only took eight hours to surpass Deadpool & Wolverine's 365 million views two years ago.(That number also included the more than 100 million who watched the Super Bowl on TV.) By comparison, the first trailer for Spider-Man 2021: No Way Home reached 355.5 million views in its first 24 hours.the highest in Sony history at $1.9 billion worldwide.Avengers: Endgame's latest series of trailers surpassed 1 billion combined views, although they accumulated over time, not just in 24 hours.
Tom Holland returns to play Peter Parker/Spider-Man in Brand New Day, which Sony has set for July 31.
The new installment comes from Destin director Daniel Creighton, who directed Shang Chi and Legend of the Ten Rings for Marvel.Jon Bernthal, Mark Ruffalo and Sadie Sink join the new cast of the Spidey franchise, with franchise mainstays Zendaya and Jacob Batalon returning.
The script for Spider-Man has been confirmed by Chris McKenna and Eric Somers.
Holland previously told The Hollywood Reporter about his return: "It's been a collaborative process. The first few meetings, 'Why are we doing this again?' It was about, and I think we found the reason for that. I'm very happy with where we are creatively."
