Lil Nas X's lawyers have said he was on track after he was arrested on charges of assaulting police officers.

The rapper appeared in a Los Angeles courtroom on Monday after missing the day before because he was hospitalized in another state, his lawyers said at the time.

In a brief hearing on Monday, the judge ordered the musician, whose real name is Montero Hill, to return to court on March 12, when a preliminary hearing date has been set.

"As you can see, Montero is doing amazing, doing great things, and we're very happy for him," lawyer Ran Noyce West said outside the courthouse.

The singer wore a brown jacket, khaki pants and brown cowboy boots.

"We are very much looking forward to a positive resolution to the situation," said Findling.
