Baltimore Black Pride 2010 (BBP) takes place during the weekend of October 8 to 10. This year’s theme, “Embrace and Celebrate Diversity,” represents a willingness “to embrace everyone who is a part of, as well as a supporter of, our community.”
BBP features a block party, workshops, art installations, food, and live entertainment. Key sponsors of the event include:
· Chase Brexton Health Services, which provides a broad range of affordable, low-cost primary medical, dental and mental health care to people in Baltimore City and beyond;
· AIDS Interfaith Residential Services. which provides comprehensive supportive housing services to enhance quality of life, emphasizing self-sufficiency for low-income and homeless individuals and families living with or at risk of HIV/AIDS or other disabilities;
· Moveable Feast, the only meal delivery program for homebound people living with AIDS in the greater Baltimore area and;
· Baltimore OutLoud, which provides an independent voice for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning community throughout the mid-Atlantic region.
BBP is organized by Baltimore Black Pride, Inc., which helps to build an awareness of pride and provide outreach/prevention education on HIV/AIDS and other health conditions prevalent among men and women of color, as well as social and economical issues.
